Swimming with humpback whales is a unique experience, but it requires following certain essential conditions to ensure your safety and that of the animals. These essential rules allow you to fully enjoy this adventure while preserving their well-being and the balance of their natural habitat.

BE ABLE TO SWIM AT LEAST 200M IN OPEN WATER

To ensure your safety, it is essential to have good endurance and feel comfortable in the water, even far from the shore.

MAXIMUM OF 6 PEOPLE IN THE WATER WITH THE GUIDE

To maintain calm and respect the animals, only small groups are allowed to swim at the same time.

BE COMFORTABLE USING A MASK, FINS, AND A SNORKEL

Proper equipment is essential for an optimal observation experience. Make sure you know how to use it before booking.

Here are our recommendations for a successful excursion:

  • Take motion sickness medication (such as “Mercalm”) 2 hours before departure if needed.
  • Bring a towel, swimsuit, reef-safe sunscreen, and a camera (or GoPro) to capture magical moments.
  • Arrive with a smile, ready to enjoy an unforgettable experience in the Polynesian waters!

Whales come to Tahiti between July and November to reproduce, give birth, and rest. Our naturalist guides do their best to offer you a whale encounter, but nature remains unpredictable.

To respect the animals and their well-being, freediving is prohibited during our tours. However, you can still observe the whales while snorkeling, accompanied by our naturalist guide.

Yes, children are welcome from 6 years old, provided that:

  • They are comfortable in the water and in open sea.
  • They are not prone to seasickness.

Children must be accompanied by their parents or a responsible adult.

Both morning and afternoon tours are equally interesting.

  • Morning (6:30 AM): The sea is generally calmer, and there are fewer boats.
  • Afternoon (1:30 PM): While the sea may be slightly rougher, if whales were spotted in the morning, it is often easier to find them again.

👉 There is no “better” time to see whales, as both time slots offer an exceptional experience.
