Briefing

Before departure, our team explains the safety instructions, the itinerary of the excursion, and best practices for observing whales while respecting their natural environment.

SEARCH

Aboard our boat, we set out to explore the crystal-clear waters of Tahiti. Our experienced guides scan the surroundings to spot whales and provide you with insights into their behavior.

APPROACH

Once the whales are located, we carefully approach them while respecting their space. You will be able to observe these majestic animals in their natural habitat in complete serenity.

GETTING IN THE WATER

OUT OF RESPECT FOR THE WHALES

Maximum of 3 boats per whale.
Groups of up to 6 people + 1 guide.
In the water per boat: If more than 6 people want to enter the water, two groups must be formed and take turns.
Boat approach distance: 100 meters.
Water approach distance: 15 meters.

En tant que secrétaire - animatrice titulaire de l'Association Taapuna New Team en collaboration avec la Mairie de notre belle Ville de Punaauia, travaillant en milieu périscolaire - centre de vacances entourer d'enfants âgés de 5 à 17 ans, nous pouvons vous rassurés que Dive and sea Tahiti vous ferons rêver en vous faisant découvrir le monde marin dans toute sa splendeur. WHAT ARE THE BEST TIPS TO PREPARE FOR MY WHALE TOUR IN TAHITI?

CAN WHALE SIGHTINGS BE GUARANTEED?

Whales come to Tahiti between July and November to reproduce, give birth, and rest. Our naturalist guides do their best to offer you a whale encounter, but nature remains unpredictable.

IS FREEDIVING WITH WHALES ALLOWED?

To respect the animals and their well-being, freediving is prohibited during our tours. However, you can still observe the whales while snorkeling, accompanied by our naturalist guide.

CAN CHILDREN PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURS?

Yes, children are welcome from 6 years old, provided that:

They are comfortable in the water and in open sea.
They are not prone to seasickness.

Children must be accompanied by their parents or a responsible adult.

IS IT BETTER TO GO ON A WHALE TOUR IN THE MORNING OR AFTERNOON?

Both morning and afternoon tours are equally interesting.

Morning (6:30 AM): The sea is generally calmer, and there are fewer boats.
Afternoon (1:30 PM): While the sea may be slightly rougher, if whales were spotted in the morning, it is often easier to find them again.

👉 There is no “better” time to see whales, as both time slots offer an exceptional experience.
